Korean Ji Eun-hee wins LPGA season opener
Brooke Henderson was lurking just one shot behind. Lee was four strokes back of the co-leaders.

Ji stumbled out of the gate with back-to-back bogeys on the first two holes but recovered with consecutive birdies at the third and fourth holes. With another bogey at the sixth, Ji was 1-over through the front nine.

Ji birdied the 10th to get back to 13-under, and another birdie at the par-5 13th took her to 14-under.

On the same hole, Lydia Ko dropped to third place with a double bogey, with Lee Mi-rim now putting pressure on Ji with her late charge.

Ji's lead over Lee dwindled to one with a bogey at the 15th, but she immediately bounced back with a birdie at the 16th and hung on for a two-stroke win at the inaugural event.

Ji said chipping in for a birdie at the third hole from 15 yards out was the major turning point for her round.

All-Star catcher signs mega free agent deal with new club
All-Star catcher Yang Eui-ji, the most coveted asset in South Korean baseball's open market this winter, signed the second-largest free agent contract in league history on Tuesday.

The 31-year-old agreed to a four-year deal worth 12.5 billion won ($11.1 million) with the NC Dinos. The Korea Baseball Organization club announced the deal, which includes a signing bonus of 6 billion won. Yang made 600 million won in 2018.

Yang is now the highest-paid catcher in the KBO, and the contract is the second-most lucrative one handed to a KBO free agent, behind the 15 billion won deal that Lee Dae-ho signed with the Lotte Giants in 2017 in his return from the Seattle Mariners.

Yang spent his first 10 seasons with the Doosan Bears and won two Korean Series championships with them. The Bears finished first in the regular season this year, and now Yang is now joining the lowest-placed team from the 2018 season.
